I think, like Val Demmings said yesterday, that we get what we pay for. I think cops and teachers should receive a pretty significant salary, and proper training.

Police in Austin are paid about $3,000 less than teachers ($54,000 ->$57,000).

Then again, teachers don’t kill any of the people they are pledged to serve.
