It’s probably dangerous to ascribe motives, but the stories I’ve read on the Martin shooting indicate that Zimmerman wanted to be a cop. He plea bargained his assault-on-a-cop charge to the point where his record was considered clean. Still, that’s probably going to set off huge red flags for any type of law enforcement job Zimmerman may have wanted to pursue.

I’m not saying that Zimmerman wanted to kill Martin, but it wouldn’t surprise me if his mind set was “if I can take down one of these guys they’ll have to let me in.”
