So I Googled “megachurch” and this image popped up:

and my first thought was “That’s not a church - that’s an AC/DC concert.”

I don’t understand the appeal of attending a church service of 20,000 people. Is it a feeling of strength in numbers? Us vs the Cold Cruel World? There is no way a pastor, or a team of pastors, could get to know all those people in any meaningful way.
