re: #73 Targetpractice

Only thing funnier than the recycling of HCQ quackery is the attacks by anti-vaxxers on that Ivermectin study saying men experience sterility. Their attacks on it?

- It’s a single study (HA!)
- It’s got flawed methodology (HAHA!)
- It was only seen to cause sterility in those taking it long-term (HAHAHA!)

For the crowd not only pushing Ivermectin as a COVID “cure” based upon a handful of studies with inconclusive results and flawed methodology, but pushing it as a prophylactic to be taken daily for however long COVID remains a public health issue, the irony meter is…well…

This is what the Swedish medical info system (LIF/FASS) has to say about Ivermectin tablets:
“Djurstudier har visat reproduktionstoxikologiska effekter” … “Ivermektin ska endast användas under graviditet då det är strikt indicerat.” which Swedish for
“Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicological effects” … “Ivermectin should be used during pregnancy only when strictly indicated.”
Which I believe is medicalese for “use only when you have to, or as a medication of last resort.”
The entry (from the medical professional section of the database) is dated 2019-10-31.
When I look at the preclinical section it says birth defects such as cleft lip and cleft palate, however no carcinogen or genetic toxicity. Preclinical meaning that a company discovered the effects while crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s for getting a drug to market.
They even discourage pregnant women or women who want to become pregnant from using the topical cream.
And even if the Nigerian study leaves much to be desired, the dose is below the maximum approved dose of 200µg/kg (@ 150µg/kg), meaning the effects begin early.
