Reality does care. Spewing racist garbage with no explicit use of obscenities or direct attacks, but surreptitiously, using code words such as MAGA, CRT, and birtherism, can be quite successful at persuading others to follow your lead and converting them to your way of thinking. The worst offenders will rise up in indignation and claim they are not racist, while they promote every subtle racist trope imaginable. Those who fell down the QAnon rabbit hole did not start that way, but step-by-step they were led into this dark destructive ideology.
