I’ve had grass-fed beef that was very good, though not as tender as Kobe beef. My friend in Wyoming just let his herd forage on their own, and when there was snow cover he fed them other stuff. Pretty sure he did not feed them corn, being a kind of purist that way.

He worked for the BLM. One of those guys who left his home in the East as a young man, intending to end up on the West Coast, and only got as far as Casper, Wyoming.

This makes me think about the Kobe beef too though - I wonder if, given the limited farming space in Japan, I’ll be the cattle have very limitied moving space and don’t exercise much. Tender = flabby afterall.
