I’ve gotta scrape together sixty bucks so I can subscribe properly here… this place and the people who populate it is such a gem of sanity and goodwill in a world gone mad.

I try really hard not to engage in political FB because it never ends very well - but the “animals” thing gets me so righteously angry. My wife’s family lost people in the Holocaust, and I grew up as an American Jew in the 70s learning that we had to do everything in our power to make sure “never again” was a reality. And now to see the slippery slope extending ahead of us…. it makes you want to scream.

I know. I hear ya about the animals comment. I’m not Jewish but my family is Slavic maternally and we too were subject to the Nazi propaganda of dehumanizing. And you are so right about the slope. And then you have SHS trying to claim it’s because we “like” MS-13 more than we do Trump. No, it’s because even the worst criminals are humans. Denying them humanity is a cowardly way to approach it that does nothing to prevent crime.
