Perot actually led in some polls before he dropped out. But again, the electorate and the parties were so different at that point, it’s not really an apt comparison.

But really, if you’re going to build a third party movement in this country, it has to be ground up not top down. Win seats in state legislatures, or in the House, then win state wide elections, then eventually run presidential campaigns.
