Husband is a high school basketball coach. Has been very vocal on social media about BLM and supporting his black athletes and students and white fragility, etc. Posting interviews with different NBA coaches and players who are speaking out, and generally making me excessively proud of him. None of the other coaches are doing it but they’re retweeting him everywhere.

His Twitter account is his but it has the name of his school and program all over it. Well, he got an email from his principal telling him he could not be political on a school account. He told her it’s a personal account, he will take nothing down, stop posting, or in any way back down. He told me, “She can take it to HR. I don’t give a fuck. It stays.”

He just got a call from her. “I didn’t realize it’s a personal account that happens to be full of references to the school. Now I can tell parents to shut up. You have the right to say anything you want on a personal account. Just don’t speak on behalf of the school. People are going nuts.”

So, GOOD FOR HIM. And her. No one’s backing down.
