Czech Republic pretty much views the EU as nothing but a cash cow, a source of subsidies for infrastructure improvement.

Vladimir Putin remarked a few months back that once Czech Republic, Poland, etc., go from being net beneficiaries of EU cash to net contributors to the EU budget….they’ll probably invoke Article 50 and leave.

I think Putin’s probably entirely correct in his assessment, sad to say.

The argument that Germany gives is that its export trade benefits indirectly from the money it spends on the EU, making it a worthwhile investment.

But as long as nations continue to elect Trumpoid zero-sum-gamers to positions of power, they will not be able to see past the bottom line.
