Agh! I watched it twice, and I was like, THIS IS NOT THE BOOK I READ AS A GIRL. Which was in the 1960s.

It looks like the people styling the movie emptied out the contents of Disney’s wardrobe onto Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Which. That’s not the Mrs. Whatsit I knew, the one who stole a dozen bedsheets off a neighbor lady’s clothesline. Could they not find a tall, skinny, red-headed, freckled 14 YO ish boy to play Calvin O’Keefe?

On the other hand, I have to give them absolute props for the chilling recreation of the neighborhood on Camazotz. The rest of it…NOPE.

Now I will go off and yell at kids on my lawn.
