If you don’t see him again, pay it forward.

At Christmastime, I was just starting to walk without crutches. I was limping, slowly. I went to the grocery store, limped around as I got my stuff, bought $250 worth of groceries, got it all out of the cart into the belt and realized I didn’t have my wallet. I’d either left it in the car or at the mail stop when I had just gotten my mail. The latter was now closed.

As I was ready to “run” out to the car, some random guy walks up to me and pays the bill. I said “I can’t ask you to do that” and he replied “Your not asking and I want to.”

I was blown away by the kindness. I thanked him profusely and told him I’d pay it forward.

I’m still shocked by that just thinking about it. And I’m tearing up at the memory of that kindness.

As many of you know, I met a girl online who has a very sick baby. Money for them is always tight. I came home from the store that night and sent her $250. It was the difference for them having the ability to have a real Christmas.
