As expected, a tropical depression is trying to form off the panhandle coast of Florida:

Models have indicated for several days that the gulf coast is in for a problem. Currently the GFS model has a tropical depression turning into a tropical storm, but the problem is the system hangs off the coast of NOLA for over two days, meaning a lot of flooding.

Louisiana overall may be under rain for 4 days or more.

Strange a disturbance which could strike Texas or Louisiana started in Tennessee.
