Why do we still have bases in Europe 60 years after WWII & South Korea since the 1950s then?

Well in South Korea there was never an end to the Korean War, just a truce (which NORK said no longer exists) and the US troops at bases there are supposed to be the “trip-wire” for the US to get involved when NORK invades again.
As for our bases in Europe, that was to enable the Euroweenies to become socialists - needed that money that would otherwise go to defend themselves to support their socialist way of life, doncha’ know?
