You just nailed what “coursthip” is at least supposed to be about: giving your partner the chance to see if he is capable of understanding such a request, regardless of the circumstances.

I think that’s important. And I think it’s reasonable to ask that a NO needs to be communicated a bit more precisely when you are in the middle of hot sex.

Of course the longer I know my partner the easier this is. I’m not into one night stands but if that was about to happen I’d be very careful to communicate verbally or non-verbally what I would be doing next, to give her the time to react the way she wants to.

Actually this is quite easy.
