It’s too bad really. I vote Democratic most of the time but I like guys like Lugar since they can discuss the issues in an intellectual way without foaming at the mouth about how everyone to the left of them is a Communist. I liked John Warner here as senator and Tom Davis at congressman for those same reasons. They weren’t guys I would vote for but guys I could say “Yeah I disagree with you but you’re not a jerk about it.”
