Back from voting.
Suffolk County has implemented a digital sign-in to vote. Gone are the voting books, replaced by a small screen on which they can look up your name and address, and then have you sign a digital form. You get a receipt for signing in.
Voted straight Democrat. I mentioned to my wife that there ought to be a law that in all campaign ads, signage and mailings, the candidate must list their affiliated party.
I went through this cycle getting mailings from candidates on both sides, and none listed party affiliation. It should be codified that you claim your party. If you’re a Democrat, be proud.
If you’re a goddamn Republican, own that shit.
I got a doorknob flyer the other day that did list all the party candidates for the Democrats. And the ballot listed the party affiliation of the candidates - including one that apparently had both the Democrat *and* Republican approval for one slot.
No party affiliation listed on the ballot for whether to retain or not retain the various judges. I found that sort of interesting.
