The problem is that the other candidates aren’t banking almost entirely on their popularity to win the day. Warren has detailed proposals, Biden and Klobucher have legislative successes to bank on, while Buttigieg and Bloomberg have their mayoral track records to back them up. Sanders is relying almost entirely upon a lot of promises and good publicity to move forward.

Sanders is a personality, just like Trump is a personality, just like Barack Obama was largely a personality (he had a pretty thin resume when he first ran in 2008). Love him or hate him, Sanders’ personality may just be the antidote to Trump.

And it might just be the personality to keep the House and flip the Senate.
