What is really depressing about all this is that, despite Trump effing things up about as royally is things can be effed up over the last four years, and despite an extremely motivated electorate, you still have close to half of the voters, roughly 48%, voting for the man who is FUBAR personified.

And too large a chunk of the people who voted for Biden split their ticket. They don’t see that Trump isn’t unique, but a product of the Republican party in general. I don’t think you can “blame” Fox News or OAN or even the entire right-wing news eco(echo)-sphere. They merely reflect what those consumers want to hear. Sure, like a snake eating its own tail, they curl into a tighter and tighter ball of an impossible reality of their own imagination, but … they still have to be convinced to uncoil or the problem never goes away.

And it seems impossible.
