When Ted Kennedy and Michael Jackson died (or more generally anyone I had some issue with for one reason or another), I banned myself from saying anything bad for several weeks. By the time my criticism-after-death embargo was lifted, I didn’t care about either enough anymore to say much and just moved on.

I suspect this might turn out the same way. I do hope his family and friends are well supported and they don’t suffer from grief for too long.
