Reads like an attempt to make fun of #NotYourShield which was one of the gamergate hashtags that was supposed to be used by women and minority gater supporters to undermine the fact that it was a generally white male misogynist movement. Kluwe waded deep into the swamp fighting gamergate, seems like someone with an unhealthy conflict fixation, whereas I just try to block idiots and move on. Also, while I’m not pretending it’s exculpatory, Nachos are a distinctly American food.

Yes, that was his backpedaling explanation. Except he used it only twice in his TL, both times against Carrera, who happens to be a Latina, and no, “not your shield” does not even work as a response to her tweet. So yeah, a racial slur it was.
