They take everything biblical literally: angels, demons, Genesis. The quoted prayer sounds exactly like the stuff I heard when dragged reluctantly to an Assembly of God church. The admonition of praying quietly by yourself in your cell is completely ignored by these people, too.

A lot of those people find reading the Bible kind of a drag, because it has all the long, serious bits about being moral and decent. What they want is entertainment, so they read Tim LaHaye and similar nonsense as a guide to Christianity and convince themselves that they are genuinely spiritual in their ignorance of what Jesus actually said.
