I wonder if that’s because Russian trolls speak better English than they do other languages; obviously, it would make more sense for them to concentrate resources on their biggest perceived foe (ŧhe USA) so English-language skills would be in more demand than say, French or German or Italian.

According to recent reports, the Russians seem to be paying Venezuelan trolls to destabilize Spain.

The language barrier may have been a factor quantitatively speaking, but I still saw some really heinous posts in perfect French that got laughed at by (alleged) Front National voters who resented being mistaken for idiots.
