Not all olds are tech-impaired, but it surprises me how many fellow teachers are still relying on paper and chalkboards. I started using computers in my classroom in 1985, because I had a personal computer as early as 1981, thanks to my dad.
I have people on staff who can’t open attachments reliably, and like the subject I mentioned here, create emails to send to themselves to print out in the office to manually type the contents into an Excel file. O_o
Then he needs help *every single time* to use the Excel file to calculate averages, because the totals have to be calculated out of a set points value.
Excel really does kick my ass, I have to admit. I have never had occasion to use it enough where I had to master it…sigh.
