It’s all theatre. John the Orange knows that whatever passes the House must be approved in the Senate. In the meantime he gets lots of media attention and allows his own party activists to vent.

From all appearances, he’s hoping that he can use it as leverage with Obama. “Give me more concessions or be responsible for taxes rising.” Last I heard, Obama’s prepared to tell him not only to go to Hell, but also give him directions.
