Perhaps it would be a good idea to have a copy of the instructions posted on the refer door, as well as where your will may be found. Also posted there should be a list of medicines you are on.

And maybe your doctor should have a copy. Kaiser had me give them a copy of my durable power of attorney for health care before I had knee surgery. A real confidence booster, that was.

But yes, no matter how old you are, everyone in the family needs to know everyone else’s wishes and if not everyone is on the same page, make sure you all know who is who, as it were. These things are difficult, but knowing what everyone wants is very helpful.

Also, I told my husband that if he were in the position of making a difficult choice and made the “wrong” one (oops, I wasn’t really brain dead after all…) I forgave him.
