You are entirely ignoring the fact of military weapons being aggressively marketed to civilians who have no justification for owning them.

The government must show why it is justified in banning something. Citizens do not need to justify to the government why they wish to own someone.

And if any bans are to be promulgated, that is the task of Congress. And after Sandy Hook Diane Feinstein introduced such a ban in the Senate and the a majority of the Senate voted that ban down.
