My grandmother was 10 at the time. Six of her twenty-five classmates, and their teacher, died during the epidemic.

Grandma Bacon and Grandma Mitchell both recounted the terror of that epidemic. Grandma Bacon worked at the Navy Department. People were in an absolute panic. Grandma would see several people come to work, starting to cough, collapse at their desks or work stations, deep blue skin color.

Grandma Mitchell said she thought of the Black Plague, people dying and placed in mass graves…

As for that asshole Pulpit Pimp Copeland, she deserves multiple Darwin Awards…
