What historical communist systems, with their commissars and industry bosses and Party corruption resemble is an economic system in which coordination between those with means of production—be that the factory boss or the capitalist business owner—and the political elite that direct resources in a manner that creates a cycle of money routed to a minority with power, who pay politicians to route more, who legislate to route more, as the people at the bottom of the system labor with less and less benefit for themselves.

That’s the joke of communism as implemented—it just re-arranged who had control of the means of production, then things went back to oligarchy quick smart.

…which we will, never, ever, talk about in this country.
