What? Did the Taliban exist back in the late 70s and 80s? Proof?

IIRC the Taliban were formed after the Soviets were kicked out. Also, the funding the U.S. provided went to the Mujahedeen, domestic fighters, not to foreigners such as Bin Laden and Al Qaeda as is often claimed by our lefty friends.
