Very well said. And what the Derpbaggers fail to recognize is that those racist Southern Democrats were very conservative. The Derpbaggers are so obsessed with party but completely dismiss ideology.

That’s why I always frame the civil rights movement as a battle of liberalism/progressive versus conservatism/reactionary because that’s what it was. The Democrats who ran the South by and large were conservatives. It wasn’t just on race. It was on many matters. Want to know why the South never unionized as heavily as the North? Yep. Want to know why the South didn’t spend on much on things like education? Yep. The Dixiecrats were conservatives. They probably would have stayed Democrats but Civil Rights was the straw that broke the camel’s back for them.
