As the far right (which is now the core constituency of the Republican Party) becomes more marginalized, the membership has increasingly become more radical in both their rhetoric and actions.

Whats worse is that talk of things like secession and the violent overthrow of the government has become so commonplace, that the psyche of mainstream America (both media and general population) has been dulled to the ravings and basically ignore it now.
