Bee’s piece is NOT good, given how willfully stupid it is. Eddie the Eagle is a trademarked character, and the NRA is just as free to regulate sales of a costume of that character as Disney is free to regulate sales of costumes of Mickey Mouse. And the NRA has chosen to restrict sales of the costume to those engage in NRA- approved safety courses and classes. As such the NRA is absolutely free to refuse to sell it to anyone they feel might use their own character to the organization’s detriment.

The great majority of civilian legal firearms, by contrast, are sold for normal sale (though a sale subject to restrictions). Of course it is easier for someone to buy a gun than a Eddie the Eagle costume.
