I can see Roberts using this as a chance to argue through the lack of merits with his conservative colleagues, to try and get them to see that taking up the case for real can only damage their reputations in the long run.

The returns will come out. I am almost expecting a Karl Rove-inspired tactics of “leaking” fake documents that will cause a big stir and then can be dismissed as forgeries, like they did with the documents proving that GW Bush ducked his Air National Guard service.
