I am so sick of Christian fundamentalist assholes comparing their “plight” (Having to live in an America that allows SSM and treats LGBT people as equals rather than evil) to what the Jews of Nazi Germany and occupied Europe went through. And then these fuckers have the nerve to claim that they’re “friends” to the Jewish people. You’re not a friend at all when you equate a trivial annoyance, yes assholes not liking gay marriage is a trivial annoyance to mass genocide.

This rises almost to a founding principle of our country, though. The Pilgrims came here to “escape religious persecution”. The religious persecution they were escaping? The fact that any (Trinitarian) Protestant sect was tolerated in England. The fact that people were allowed to follow any sect other than theirs constituted “persecution”. Not much has changed.
