The Assyrians and Chaldeans didn’t have that because even after being surviving the killings by Turks in Anatolia, in Iraq they were still subjected to massacres in the 1930s (Simile Massacre of 1933 comes to mind) and didn’t really enjoy a lot of benefits until the Baathists came to power.

Interesting. I need to read more about this stuff. I recently got a good Chinese history educational brush-up from one of my work friends. There’s a lot of things about history that are too complex to cover in school really.
