Well, the folks at the NYT are probably happy because Trump said nice things about them today.

Won’t last.

It shows that they did something right and therefore will continue to kowtow to Trump and Republicans.

And when Trump decides to rant and rave and rage at them again, it’ll be a sign that they did something wrong, therefore they need to kowtow to Trump and Republicans.
