I’m sure Islamic terrorists are eager to test Obama but Al Qaeda is severely weakened and I just don’t think they have the capability to pull off a serious attempt at a biological of nuclear attack. They have very little restraint and if they had the capability they would have already tried it somewhere. It’s far more likely that they will try something similar to 9-11,7/7 or Mumbai. That seems to be the extent of their capabilities.

I don’t think a “nuclear” attack in the sense of an atomic device is likely in the near-term; but a dirty bomb is a very real possibility. Biological or chemical attempts are not at all out of the question. You are correct that they’ve had great “success” using conventional explosives and firearms, however. They probably realize that a Mumbai-style attack would be less successful in most of the US, however, because of an armed citizenry shooting back.

Large, conventional bomb attacks are probably the most likely threat.
