You know what - about wood measures - they aren’t even accurate.

A 2x4 is not actually 2x4. It’s like, 1.5 by 3.5 or something. I stay in a state of confusion over it.

a board starts out at 2x4 until it dries out and is remilled to it’s final dimension…which is exactly what you said
