Also forcing you kid to stay at the table until he cleans his plate is a bad idea. My kids always could always have peanut butter or Cheerios if they didn’t like what was on the family menu. They will just learn to hate whatever it is that you forced them to eat, and then your future daughter/son-in-law will be PISSED.

Our rule is: You put it on your plate, you must eat it.* We put it on your plate, you must try a little.

*Well obviously unless there is something actually wrong with the food.
