I don’t know if he does or not but what was telling to me is that he actually did better in 2010 than he had in 2006 and that was against the same opponent, Ehrlich whom was a former governor too. What I like about Marty is he’s quite socially liberal and he has a likability to him- plays in an Irish-American rock group. As I said, there’s a lot of names I hear mentioned I like. I really like New York’s Kirsten Gillibrand.

I like her a lot. There was talk about her being a blue dog when she first became Senator, but she’d been great on progressive policies and she’s tough. We could have an embarrassment of riches like we did back in 2008. In terms of the future I would like to see the Democrats focus really hard on getting great candidates elected statewide in as many states as possible to keep a strong bench. We need more women and minority statewide elected officials too like Kamala Harris out in CA.
