I just said I wasn’t certain that McConnell would vote for Hagel. Sotomayor and Kagan were much more sure things than either and I’m almost positive that he didn’t vote for their confirmation. So why would I expect him to vote for Hagel who’s gotten a lot of controversy already?

I never said he would, only that Hagel will get the votes needed
