Because logic:
Let’s assume that blow dryers were invented and for sale to consumers in the 1930’s, but removed from the consumer market because “electrocution” but your grandmother might still have one. Or even if your grandmother paid attention to “consumer alerts” and got rid of hers, they would still be for sale in, ahem, minority businesses.
My grandmother did not have a blow dryer, and none of the minority businesses that my African-American friends recommended to straighten my [N-word] hair, had anything resembling a blow dryer.
Therefore, blow dryers did not exist in the 1930’s and not in the 1960’s.
