Could be more fun. It’s awkward to work on because it’s basically a large bucket seat that sits in a wooden frame. Not having an actual upholstery shop with a big table to plop this thing on, I have to wrestle with it on the floor. But it’s super comfortable, and was in pretty bad shape, so I told my son (whose chair it is) that I’d fix it up for him.

Likewise, working on The Beast isn’t all fun and games. For one thing, every time I light the fire, there’s always a risk that it could quite literally light on fire, which makes it a bit nerve-wracking. For another thing, it never behaves the same way twice when I start it; its unpredictability makes it a bit maddening when I just want to slide behind the wheel and take a cruise.
