I think lizard/liberal fatalism on a lot of topics keeps us from solving a lot of problems:

I’m not of the opinion that calling out the outright hypocrisy of “thoughts and prayers, and nothing will be done” is fatalism. It is motivation to get people in office who will do something more than claim to clasp hands in prayer.

It is the Republicans in office who are beholden to the NRA who claim “nothing can be done.”
