re: #124 JordanRules

She’s got the same creds by way of education (teacher for 23 years) rather than military. And she’s won local elections.

“Current role as vice president of the Janesville School Board, to which she was elected in 2013 and reelected in 2016. She’s also been a union member for 23 years, serving as officer, vice president, and president.”

Those would be equivalent credentials. Which one of them announced first to run against Ryan? Being first usually gets you a gain on others.

Politics isn’t a nice game though, even for local offices, hence my comment about if you’re ahead you don’t do debates. That strategy is the same regardless of your party or positions.

The same goes for the person who is behind: That person demands debates as much as possible (since it will raise the person who is trailing’s profile in the election).

No leading candidate is going to give away an advantage if he or she can help it.

I don’t have to do debates, because my town is small enough that I know everyone in it. That said, I wouldn’t give away an advantage either if I am trying to win an election.
