I still listen to AM radio wingnuts just to keep tabs on talking points and narratives. Probably average 90 minutes a week and get Prager, Medved, Elder, Gallagher, and some of Jay Sekulow’s freakshow, occasionally Levin if I’m driving late.

6AM has always been the local ha’ole guy out of Honolulu on ‘The Mike Buck Show.’ Hawaii is heavily Democratic so there’s not a lot of full nuttery here, most conservatives would be considered RINO’s everywhere else. The show has been more local oriented and somewhat light on the conservative narratives, though Mike would sometimes let a little wingnut out local kine style.

Things have changed. The coordination and messaging you usually hear on the syndicates are now infused in the local guy’s show. Yesterday he had on the local GOP party rep talking up an upcoming Turning Point USA event with Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens. They both discussed how brilliant Kirk was because he could communicate to the younger generation and get through to them despite the onslaught of liberal bias in all the schools and local institutions. A total puke fest.

It seems like desperation to me. The GOP talker on the phone spoke about the brilliant Steven Moore from the Heritage Institute (LOL, Foundation you hack). They don’t have their best people out here. A follow on event is a cocktail hour with Candace Owens: tickets are $150 for a two hour event. Oh boy.

What is striking is that the AM Radioplex is essentially and practically speaking a campaign arm of the GOP. You don’t need dark money to drive narratives or attack Dem opponents: the AM Radioplex is doing it for you non-stop. Citizens United is bad, but we are ignoring the massive propaganda campaign running daily for decades on the radio. Of course as soon as this comes up the right wing will go full bonkers pulling every rhetorical ploy possible including the original narrative: the Liberal Media.
