27% of the US population is hopelessly lost. The rest, not so much. So I agree that those 27% will lap up anything Trump says. The rest will not.

Yet it was the 27% who I really talking about when I said “the rubes.” The midterms will have convinced Donny that the key to his reelection efforts is driving up the turnout of his base, because he did that with his “wag-the-dog” border bullshit and the GOP kept the Senate. He doesn’t give a flying fuck that he just cost the GOP the House and will see more seats lost in 2020, he’s only worried about one person’s ass: His own.
