That kind of cha-ching could buy you one hell of an infrastructure. Let us say they were paying an very high amount of money per server at $1000 per month for dedicated hosting. That would be about 83 dedicated servers. 83 dedicated servers clustered could, with the kind of hardware $1000/mo could buy, give your 5000 hits per server per second, or 415,000 hits per second, 24.9 mil hits per minute, 1.5 billion hits per hour and 36 billion hits per day.

That is f’ing ridiculous.

Yup. Even if you toss in large expenditures for security measures that would be required for such a site, I can’t imagine running up that kind of tab. Somethin’ ain’t quite right.
