Most of my coworkers are acting like your dad, though I doubt too many of them voted for Clinton. The plurality of the country, a huge portion of them middle class, doesn’t think much will change. Things might get a little worse, but the next group will fix it.

Maybe they’re right. Maybe things won’t turn out so bad. But I think the only way that happens is those of us who see what Trump/Putin can do keep up with it and keep them from doing it. Sadly, all that will mean is a huge chunk of people won’t learn any lesson, but I’m here to take care of the people I care about, not have them get hurt to teach others a lesson.

As misanthropic and cynical as I can be, I really, really counted on my fellow citizens to reject this monster outright. And they didn’t.

It’s like arguing about the color of the sky with someone who insists it’s pink with yellow stripes, and not blue. I just do not how to handle people like that.
